The quality and value of a diamond are assessed based on the four Cs:Carat (ct) – The weight of a diamond, where 1 carat (ct) = 0.2 grams. Larger diamonds are rarer and more valuable.Color – Diamonds are graded from colorless (highest quality) to yellowish or brownish. The color scale ranges from D (colorless) to Z (heavily tinted).Clarity – Describes internal inclusions and external imperfections. The fewer inclusions, the more valuable the diamond. The scale ranges from "Flawless" to "Included" (significant inclusions).Cut – The cut influences the brilliance, i.e., how well the diamond reflects light. A precise cut maximizes the stone's sparkle.
Lab-grown and natural diamonds are chemically and physically identical, but differ in their formation. While natural diamonds form deep within the earth over millions of years, lab-grown diamonds are artificially produced in just a few weeks. Specialized testing equipment makes it possible to detect the difference. Subtle characteristics, along with the assurance of owning a genuine diamond, make natural diamonds more valuable. Furthermore, transparent diamonds eliminate any doubt. FELIX AMAR sells exclusively natural diamonds.
